Fall Flowers
Flowers from my travels over the weekend.
This week’s haul was: peppers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, Romano beans, broccoli, and dinosaur kale. The cooking highlight of last week was this: Orecchiette with Sage, Roasted Garlic, Cauliflower, and Prosciutto. It takes a bit of time, but was super easy to make, and so very good.
I did the pick up this week, so the above is the entire haul for the week before I took out my mother’s half. The varieties from top left to right (and left to right again) are: Wolf River, Red Baron, Milden, Sweet Sixteen, Red Blaze, and Chestnut.

Read for the RIP VI Reading Challenge. Young Samuel Johnson decided to show some initiative and trick or treat a full three days before Halloween. That’s why he happened to be at 666 Crowley Road when the Abernathys decided to raise a demon. Samuel figures out pretty early on that none of the adults are

In cooking highlights, I

I haven’t read Jack of Fables yet, mostly because I find Jack to be a pretty obnoxious character. But, having him back in the realm of the main storyline again, I can see that his side story seems to have some interesting other characters, so I’m a little more inclined to read it now. This

The rebels in Fabletown have brought down the Adversary, and would like to think that peace will now reign in all the Fable worlds. But, this being a world of fairytales, we all know that there’s still evil lurking around the corner, and this evil is far worse than anything they’ve ever encountered before. This

Read for the RIP VI Reading Challenge. Edward Moon is a conjurer. With his partner, the larger than life Somnambulist, he makes a living in his own theater in late Victorian London. He’s also a detective, but in all professions, he’s now a bit past his prime. The rather grisly death of Cyril Honeyman will
