pulsation sock

Knitting Notes

I’ve been a little light on the posting this week, but I suppose that’s what happens when you’re reading a moderately weighty book, and working on two projects that aren’t done yet. Project number one is the Pulsation Socks for my mother. The above is sock number one, but I’m actually past the heel on […]

Knitting Notes

Pattern: Coronet Hat from Knitty, smallest sizeYarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in the Blueberry colorwayNeedles: size 8s – circs and DPNs Coronet hat is done. This is a great, fast hat. The cable band came together quite quickly, and would make a great introduction to cabling. My kitchenering on the band wasn’t the

Knitting Notes

Above are the Pulsations socks for my Mom, started last night. I really like how this yarn looks in the ball, and it was actually a lot of fun to wind, just to see how the colors were fitting together. The pattern is pretty simple so far. I’m fairly well screaming along on the Coronet

Holiday Knitting

So here’s what I’ve settled on so far for holiday knitting: For my sister: A lives in California, and already has two pair of socks from me. Since she doesn’t actually need wool that often, I figured it would be a good idea to branch out and make her something a little different. I’m going

Knitting Notes

So I did say that I wanted to concentrate on knitted gifts this week while I’m on vacation, but I’ve had the Coronet hat in my queue since last year (I think it’s the most consistent thing in my queue), and with cooler weather coming, I did want to get it made this fall. I

Still, it’s quite pretty, and I suspect I’d be perfectly happy with it if the following hadn’t happened. It came in a

Swap!

On Monday, I got my Sock Yarn from your Stash swap package from sicklipstick (on Ravelry). The yarn is Opal handpainted in a really neat blue and orange colorway. There were a number of other goodies, and it was a great package. I really enjoyed the swap. (Man I’ve taken a long time to post

Knitting Notes

My Susanna socks are coming along nicely. I completed the heel flap earlier this work, and then put them aside for a few days to work on the Brocade Leaves sweater. I’m back in the mood for socks, so provided I can keep up some momentum, I may even be able to finish them this

Knitting Notes

Susanna sock number one is done! I definitely like the pattern. It goes pretty fast once I get going. I also like the yarn. It was a little sticky when I was winding it from the skein to a ball, but I’ve since had to frog it, and that went fine. It’s nice and soft.
