The remnants of hurricane Erin passed offshore this week – these pictures are about two hours before high tide. She’s no longer a hurricane, and is hundreds of miles away at this point, but still pretty impressive. We could feel the spray up on the path.

My father is very good at finding fun excursions in the area for our annual up to camp summer visits. This year was a tour of the Waukeag Neck Oyster farm, in the upper reaches of Frenchman Bay. (It does help that the owner’s mother is a long time friend of my father and C.)

This is what I woke up to yesterday. It’s gone now, because snow doesn’t last in April, but this is what I’ve been dealing with for the last several weekends. I’m entering the home stretch of reformatting all my old blog posts, and in a depressing coincidence, I did March and April of 2022 yesterday.
The snow pack is rapidly decreasing. We were hoping for a walk at Two Lights yesterday – I would put money on the main path there being clear, but their front entrance is blocked. It looks like they’re redoing the entrance road (the entry kiosk is completely gone at the moment). Better now than later,
