The Quebec Corner garden is planted up to represent the woodland habitat around Montreal, as well as the wetland habitat of the nearby islands. It’s very different than the ornamental shade garden on the other side of the larger grounds – not as showy – but lovely in its own way.

I based this weekend’s plans on having gone to Wolfes Neck a week from now last year, and seeing the bluebead lilies had already gone by. Who knew I had to take into account one of the coolest springs we’d had in a while for my plans. Oh well. There’s always next year. At least
