American Witch Hazel

Gilsland Farm – Falmouth, ME

We made it to my favorite stand of witch hazel today. Normally, it also features winterberry, but the berries were pretty sparse at this point this year. But it was nice to see a flower still hanging on, now that our temperatures have dipped precipitously, seemingly overnight.

Had a lovely walk at Two Lights on Sunday. It’s the kind of weather where as long as you’re in the sun, it’s glorious. The reason we were out there was to stop at Kettle Cove on the way out and snag some seaweed for the garden.
