So that was an interesting May. I aim to plant around Memorial Day, which can be a bit of a crap shoot. This year was the earliest that Memorial Day can possibly be, and we had the heat on that weekend. And then had it on the next weekend as well – cold, rainy weekends both. There were a few hot days in between, but mostly just too cold.
So, naturally, now that it’s June, it’s moderating a bit, but we had plans for this past weekend, so I found myself planting seedlings over the three days I was home after work. I wanted all the seedlings in the ground ahead of some warmer weather. Since the dahlias are in bigger pots, I figured they could wait.
All the seedlings are in. I’ve got things ringed by the smellier flowers and herbs, and so far, the woodchuck has only been seen in the back of the yard eating the clover. This the was the state of things last Wednesday – I’ll post further activity from this week once I get through last weekend’s activities.
