New Brunswick Road Trip

We did a lovely long weekend along the Fundy Coast Thursday to Sunday last week. The trip formed up around a Lorenna McKennit concert. It’s the tour for the 30th anniversary of The Mask and the Mirror album, and she isn’t coming down into the States this time around. We’ve been meaning to get over to New Brunswick for a while now, so we got tickets for the Saint John concert, and made a trip of it.

For Thursday, we drove down to St. Andrews and made an extra stop at Green’s Point. Friday was the concert day, and we managed to get in a walk at the Irving Nature Park before it started to rain. We spent the rest of the day tooling around Saint John. (Managed to visit the Costco, for fun.) Fortunately, the rain was only for one day, so for our last full day, we headed up the Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park.

The concert was amazing, per usual. It’s hard to believe it’s been more than 30 years since she starting producing her amazing music. She sounds the same.

We caught a lot of locations the week before they were going to close for the season, so our timing was good. It wasn’t too cold on the sunny days. If I go back, I’d like to go in warmer weather, but mid October was still a lovely time to go.
