St. Andrews – New Brunswick, Canada

The Saint Croix National Historic site is a stop along the road after you leave route 1 and head into St. Andrews. It’s got lovely views of Saint Croix Island, the earliest French settlement in North America.

Our first stop in St. Andrews proper was the St. Andrews Blockhouse National Historic site. We hit at low tide, so we took advantage of being able to walk our fairly far into the harbor. We had great views back to the park, and over to the downtown area and their pier.

The town does have a lighthouse further along from the downtown.

This park was on the way as we turned back up the peninsula towards Kingsbrae Garden. (Which is getting its own post.) It was just such a lovely day to be out and about.

We did wander through the downtown when we had lunch – it has a very Midcoast Maine small town downtown vibe.
